In 2004 I got this bow from Angelo Christiano, „Bison Gear“. The bow was built in the 70ties by „American Longbow“ owner John Schulz, who was a student of the late Howard Hill. The bow was made originally for Paul Brunner, known as „Too Short“. It is made of 4 tempered and tapered bamboo lams, brown Gordon Glass, and a Myrtle wood riser. „Medicine Ram“, a very fast and hard hitting American Longbow, is 66″ long and draws 72 @ 26″. Paul Brunner dowened a World Record buffalo with „Medicine Ram“, so John Schulz, a scholar of Howard Hill, named the bow. My buddy, Theo Schett of Salzburg, owns the sister-bow of this one, „Ram Stalker“, it pulls 74 @ 26″, all other crafting is similar to „Medicine Ram“. I’m proud to own that bow, a piece of archery and bowhunting history. On scene also: the new LegendStick Howard Hill Style Back Quiver and LegendStick-Arm guard. – a Howard Hill Deluxe Shooting Glove….a LegendStick hunting arrow….and the best leather gear you’re able to find. Howard Hill style back quivers, like Bob Swinehart used on safari.
Movie clip, featuring shooting Howard Hill Archery „LegendStick 1#“ longbow by Craig T. Ekin, Montana; and Sunset Hill „White Eagle“ longbow, by Nate Steen, Idaho:
Mr. Nate Steen, „Sunset Hill“-Master-Bowyer, Howard Hill expert and friend sent me that vintage article by Paul Brunner on his Bison hunt, using hard hitting „Medicine Ram“.
